Ever feel like an imposter at work? Like a fake? Like why are you in this position when you know others around you are equally – or better – qualified? I bet that’s a common thought for many of us.

Today's guest is Arnie Witkin and we’re going to talk about a topic that many of us have probably dealt with in our careers – the feeling that, somehow, we’re really an imposter – even a fraud. That other people we’re charged with leading probably are better qualified and know more about what we’re supposed to be doing.

It's a crazy feeling. I can tell you that, which is why I was intrigued with having Arnie on my show.

Arnie’s a speechwriter, public speaking coach mentor, and executive coach, and he says this feeling is fairly common in the workplace -- that it happens to just about everybody, from beginners to big shots in the executive suite.

So how do you cope with it? How do you get past it? Is there some sort of stragegy to employ? We’re going to talk about that with Arnie, who is the author of It’s Not A Big Thing In Life: Strategies for Coping, Considerations for My Adult Grandchildren.

For the past few years, Arnie has been helping people create coping strategies to deal with career and life struggles. He knows a lot about that, as he’s dealt with cancer multiple times and even lost his voice at one point. That’s got to be tough for somebody who makes his living talking!

Take a listen.
